How To Use Bakelite PowderAug
2021-09-08

Bakelite powder, also known as bakelite powder, has good insulation properties and is used in the manufacture of electrical appliances and daily industrial products. It is a phenolic plastic mainly made of wood powder as a filler, which is formed by pressing.

When the formaldehyde/phenol (molar ratio) is less than 1, a thermoplastic product can be obtained, called novolak resin, or novolak resin, which does not contain further polycondensation groups. It can be cured by adding a curing agent and heating. For example, the molding powder made of hexamethylenetetramine as the curing agent, the curing temperature is 150 , and the filler is commonly called bakelite powder. When the formaldehyde/phenol (molar ratio) is greater than 1, the first-stage resin is obtained under alkali catalysis, that is, the thermosetting phenolic resin, which can be dissolved in organic solvents. The first-stage resin contains methylol groups that can be further polycondensed, so there is no need It can be cured by adding a curing agent: it reacts under heating to obtain a B-stage resin, also known as a semi-resol phenolic resin, which is insoluble and infusible but can swell and soften. After further reaction, an insoluble and insoluble C-stage resin with a bulk structure, also known as insoluble phenolic resin, is obtained. The first-stage resin can solidify by itself in long-term storage.

Formaldehyde is poisonous to the human body. Most of the gas irritates the mucous membranes of the eyes and mouth and is inhaled into the body. There are two ways to avoid this hazard. 1. Brush the entire surface of the plywood with paint several times to prevent the decomposed formaldehyde gas from spreading to the outside. Painting all the surfaces many times, most people can't do this, otherwise the cost will be higher than using solid wood. 2. Remove the formaldehyde gas diffused into the air or before it diffuses into the air. This is the starting point for the operation of the manufacturers currently under the slogan of "high-tech".
